--run the program, for any purpose
--study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs--run the program, for any purpose
--redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor
--improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits
2.software is the stuff inside the computer you cant touch????
